Short, Sweet

Cat tried to kill me on stairs, slightly twisted ankle.

Furniture moved today, pouring rain.

Cat and next door cat tangled, looked like a yin yang cat design for a second.

Living room, mostly set up.

Dining room, mostly set up.

Me tired, but sleeping on my own bed tonight.

Peace.

I can't find

anything. Well, warmer clothes as it decided to be cold and rainy for a few days. Perfect for moving. Cat and computer stuff all moved. Buddy is eating and using litter box, and is fascinated with the new outside. Had to gather him from five houses down yesterday. His nose is getting tired from all the other cat smells on the bushes etc.

No calls to V, as I really didn't want to ruin a perfectly good Friday. Got stuff settled in a bit more, my bathroom almost all done. First night in new place was quiet (except for cat wanting out) and fairly restful. I expected to hear more trains, as I am near some sort of small train switching thing. Sorry, I enjoy hearing and seeing trains but don't know the terminology. I can look out of office window and see trains! I find them relaxing.

I am in view of a bowling alley as well. Haven't done that in a while, so on list to check it out. Looking forward to when I have some time to explore a bit of the area. Computer guy told me of a great Thai place two miles away. No delivery. remember I am in a more rural mentality area now. Will investigate area more restaurants as well as the parks and stuff.

It is steady raining which makes it easier to keep cat inside, for now. Wondering if nephew's ball game will be canceled. Will do a load today and get some laundry done before I am w/o my own stuff set up. I have washer/dryer but need to get it delivered (Mon) and set up (not sure when as I am changing from electric to gas dryer). There is a laundry mat 5 min. away. May have top do until I get handyperson over.

I have ordered tomato plants from e-bay (some heirloom varieties, and not too $$). Will still garden on the deck, but area to garden is about 4x what I had on apt. patio. Homemade tomato sauce and salsa! Bought some burgundy green bean seeds, hope to be pretty growing, but they turn green when cooked.

Okay, rambling to avoid unpacking. Happy Mother's Day to all who are actual mothers and to those who mother!

Peace.

Hey, I'm Busy Movin'!

So, for all you in suspense. I have not been arrested, and nice tech guy, Shannon, came out a few minutes before scheduled time. He was very nice and professional. Wiped his feet, pleased and thank you-ed, and did his work neatly and efficiently.

was that so friggin' hard, verizon? He wouldn't take a tip. And he was the one who I felt empathized with my situation, and most of all, WALKED THE TALK!

Stayed tuned as tomorrow:

1. Nice computer guy is coming over to help with the transplant of my computer from here to there. Will also make sure my DSL works etc. He's a Mac guy so very gentle, and he lives only 20 min. from new place. Will see if verizon will break his karma tomorrow...

2. I MAY if I have the energy for it, go back to making the ph calls necessary to obtain my FC (Financial Compensation). I also am going to begin the PAPER TRAIL. I received at my new mail cubbie a verizon thing (not a bill) saying what my plan was etc., pretty standard stuff, including if one has some sort of dispute. I shall begin...

3. Most fun of all, I am moving the cat to new place. And trying out a new hidden litter box that looks like a planter. Buddy has seen it and walked in it, so will be comfortable both in size and concept acceptance. Will be my first night there too. Have to hear all the night noises...

Peace.

No call

from verizon supervisor as promised.

"You keep using that word, promise. I do not think it means what you think it means."

America's Most Wanted

Continuing the Verizon hell story from yesterday. I drove the nearly hour up to be there at 8 am and waited until 12, for the promised technician to show up. Waited until 12:15, just in case. No show. Can you actually believe it? I really am taking this personally now. All I want is a friggin' phone jack added to a room.

I get home after the 4-hour loss of wages as a self-employed person, and $12 of gas (travel to and from). Note that this gets added to the previous total of 3 hrs. lost and $10.50 gas (from 2 weeks ago, when gas was slightly cheaper). I try to call customer service and get a snippy guy who makes me throw the F-bomb, and a few other choice word. Got me through to SECURITY. Even they are unable to get me to the right person. John Manning, security guy, talked to me like I had taken hostages or something. But even he was unable to get me a technician or a person to resolve this poor customer service relations issue. Something about being the phone company and not having a direct line to be able to connect me. WTF? I actually cried I was so upset. Okay, a little PMSing and I did make myself cry a bit just to make him feel bad. I don't think they understand that it is more upsetting to me that they are causing me to be so angry at their poor treatment of me, than the actual lack of service.

I made some other calls to discontinue BGE service... nice person, easily accomplished. A few other calm calls of that nature before tackling the DEMON SPAWN. Meanwhile, I get a call from nice tech Shannon (I think I called him Justin in prev. post) and he told me dispatcher just gave him the call at 1:30. I warned him about my security risk status, but that I have never harmed a technician. He laughed and said he understood the situation. He gets my sense of humor, and has set up for late tv guy to come tomorrow after 5 pm. We will see if that happens.

I feel like Charlie Brown with Lucy holding the football, again.

Note to self: are automatic weapons legal in PA? E.L. (evil laughter...)

Seriously, I feel this sort of corporate behavior brings about a lot of negative karma, and that is just wrong...

Peace anyway.

General Specific

On hold with Verizon, listening to some sad violin music. Appropriate as I am on hold to get FINANCIAL COMPENSATION. They done me wrong...

3 weeks in advance = I call nice verizon people and get some sorta freedom extra package (phone, tv, internet) and actually set up time for tv guy (1pm-4pm range) and for phone guy (4pm-8 pm) adding jack to room that will be office, only room WITHOUT phone jack.

Morning of = call one the friggin million numbers and menu crap to verify that yes tv guy on schedule. Forwarded, hung up on, etc. to the right place to verify phone guy, and yes, on schedule. I MAKE SURE they have cell number to call if there is a scheduling issue (nice friday afternoon, techs tend to skip home early).

So haul a load of boxes up and wait, doong some unpacking etc. Tv guy 12:59, done by 2:15pm. Check my home phone messages, then unpack some more. 4 pm I am doing some paperwork I brought. 4:15 or so, I check home phone again. Message saying that phone guy was not showing up and I could call and reschedule for Monday.

OH NO U DIAN'T!

I did try for the next almost hour to try to get someone to explain why this has happened, when I scheduled in advance AND verified by phone that morning. Lots of different phone menus and transfers from this dept. that dept. Finally one guy said he was going to put a red ticket on it and have someone call me within the hour (possible someone would still come out was implied).

After an hour, NO CALL. I am livid and having a petulant frenzy.

Monday = I am working in another office, and get messages on both home and cell, from Jason who was not able to get in today to put in the phone jack. He was apologetic when I returned his call. I told him I had not rescheduled, and made him listen to the whole I been wronged story. He wished me luck in my journey to FINANCIAL COMPENSATION!

Talked to nice apologetic lady (people, "I'm sorry" does not put gas back in my tank or pay the bills the missed hours of work would have), rescheduled phone jack, and she promised to follow this order. And she gave me number to call about POSSIBLE FINANCIAL COMPENSATION.

Day before morning of possible service actually happening. I call to verify but end up getting at a different number than the one I dialed. Nice boy gave me number to call to verify, but also put me on hold to the billing dept. who might be able to get me some FINANCIAL COMPENSATION.

Sad violin music for a while then some lady just starts talking to me, not even introducing herself, so I think she picked up wrong line. She was kinda snotty, until I explained I hadn't talked to her before and that a young man put on hold for 10 minutes and she just start talking at me. She was nicer but put me back on hold. It's now a test of wills. Will I stay on hold with the bad old fashioned italian restaurant music? Or will I give in and hang up? I am tenacious... if not today, then tomorrow. And the next day... Then I find out where you live. There will be COMPENSATION!

Ok, Mrs. Smith answers, I explain the situation yet again. Ugh, she says I have wrong dept. and that I should go back to a number I called that then turned in to DSL number. Something smells comcastic here.

Agent Smith says she will put me in for a supervisor callback, tomorrow between 8 am - 5 pm. Yeah, sure. Then she puts me on hold, but no music. Believe me, silence is better!

And I have now been on the phone for over an hour. Again. It is seeds like this that will bring the revolution to harvest.

Agent Smith comes back and verifies that I am on schedule for a supervisor call-back.

Spent from the battle, I go eat some cheese. Energy food for tomorrow's battle...
face to face with the actual phone guy (supposedly 8-12) and ph to ph with Super Visor.

The saga continues...

Peace.

Kate

I just found out that an old friend and high school classmate has passed away from cancer. I remember her smiling face when I got on the bus and she had saved me a seat. She was a wonderful and kind person who will be greatly missed by all who ever met her. She has made Heaven an even better place!

Peace.
